I became a first time mom in a completely new country:

As a first-time mom, I was totally new to Cambodia and had no support system yet to share my struggles.

But very soon, I met some amazing mamas in Phnom Penh. With our babies in sacs we would go around town shopping, play dates, swimming dates & boat trips.

Started Candle Up

And one fine day a friend enlightened me about the importance of burning soy candles at home instead of
paraffin. Having a baby at home, we quickly decided to shop for soy candles. Unable to find any, we started making them in our kitchen.

Our Mission

REUSABILITY: Each year after Diwali & Christmas those thoughtful candle gifts turn into the worst environmental offenders with millions heading to landfill.

We use containers that are easy to refill, reuse or repurpose. All candles are made with 100% Soy Wax. We use phthalates free fragrance oils & essential oils. For a clean burning candle, we source 100% pure cotton & wooden wicks.

Our Values

REFILL & REDUCE LANDFILL: We encourage our customers to refill their old candles instead of buying a new candle each time for their personal use.

We have proudly been refilling since 2014. We have refilled over 10,000+ containers in the last 10 years. We use Zero-Plastic in our packaging. Our gift boxes are perfect for storing those precious scarves & pashminas or your baby's first pair of clothes.

OUR JOURNEY

PHNOMPENH

PhnomPenh, December 2014. I started making my own candles as we weren't able to find any clean burning candles in all of PhnomPenh. We were the first ever soy candle company in Cambodia and to launch the refill concept.

DHAKA

Feb 2016, Dhaka, Bangladesh. We moved had to move to Dhaka. A new country and new people. We restarted Candle Up and it was thriving until we had to move again.

DELHI

Career brought us back to my home town. Juggling between resettling, a second pregnancy and a toddler, I restarted Candle Up in New Delhi. Inspired by the rich arts embedded in our Indian art history, we started our Chai Glass Collection.

HONGKONG

This city welcomed us with open arms! The love for sustainability in this city & ease of doing business, helped propel me back into business fairly quickly. Our Oriental Collection came inspired by rich Hongkong Botanical gardens. 2024

Being a melting pot of different cultures, we gradually introduced our various collections inspired by all the countries we call home. We are proud to be present at the best retail locations in Hongkong & a customer base from around the world.
